Your pressure settings are programmed to your prescription before the device is shipped, so there is nothing to configure when you open the box.

1. Connect one end of the hose to the air outlet and the other to your mask elbow. A standard hose is symmetrical, so it cannot be fitted the wrong way round.
2. If your unit has a humidifier chamber, fill it with distilled or cooled boiled water up to — never above — the maximum line, then seat it firmly.
3. Plug the adapter into the device first, then into the wall socket. The start screen means the device is ready.
4. Put your mask on and breathe normally. If auto-start is enabled the therapy begins on its own; otherwise press the start button.

Short sessions during the first few nights are perfectly normal — adaptation takes a different amount of time for everyone.

Never fill the chamber past the maximum line. Overfilling lets water reach the air path and can damage the electronics.

Give the chamber about ten minutes to cool down before removing it — it can be too hot to handle straight after use. A blue snowflake on the screen means the device is still cooling.

Dry throat in the morning? Raise the humidity one step. Water collecting inside the hose? Lower it one step, or switch to a heated hose.

Humidifier chamber

1. Pour out any remaining water and wash the chamber in warm water with a little mild detergent.
2. If a chalky white film has built up on the bottom, soak it for twenty minutes in one part vinegar to three parts water.
3. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and air dry away from direct sunlight and radiators.

Some chambers are dishwasher safe — check the manufacturer manual before you try.

Hose

1. Spray Purqua CPAP Mask Cleaner Spray with Aloe vera 250ml generously along the inside of the hose.
2. Wait three to five minutes, then run a tube brush through it if there is visible residue.
3. Rinse with clean warm water until no foam is left.
4. Hang the hose in a U shape so the remaining water drains, out of sunlight and away from heat sources.
